This door chime is completely wire-free and requires no batteries. Simply plug the receiver in and the unit will ring and flash to alert you to the doorbell. Since it plugs in, it's discreet and doesn't take up any valuable space. The volume and the strength of the flashing light are average for our doorbell range.
