Everyone deserves to experience the magic of live theatre, but people who are deaf or have hearing loss often miss out – and some have given up on theatre entirely.
This playbook will help your venue to attract and delight this audience by adopting Auracast™ – a wireless broadcast audio technology that uses Bluetooth®. It was made in collaboration with our partner, GN Hearing.

Each chapter is designed to equip different teams across your organisation with the information they need.
You can also find a list of Auracast resources here to support your installation.
I would like theatres to offer modern, easy-to-use assistive listening systems that connect directly to hearing aids without requiring users to borrow separate receivers or neck loops.”

Working with GN Hearing
To create this playbook, RNID has collaborated with GN Hearing, which has spent more than 150 years bringing people closer to what matters through intelligent hearing technology.
In 2023, GN was the first company to introduce an Auracast-enabled hearing aid, reflecting its belief that accessibility should be a shared standard, not a privilege. Auracast has since been included as standard in all new ReSound and Beltone hearing aids.
